Alright, so a couple of weeks ago, my roommate told me about a parting ceremony her and her college friends did. Each friend made a CD that they thought represented their lives, with as many songs as they could fit normally on a cd (14-16?). Now I'm fairly familiar with this concept- I've been making mixed CDs for people for awhile, based on what they represent to me. However, I've definitely never done one for myself. I mean, narrow it down to 14 songs? You've got to be kidding. But it's also a good measure of how important certain songs really are, since there's such a small selection. So I got to thinking today, if I had one for myself, what would I put on it? Here's a working list of 14 songs, but this is in no way finalized, just some thoughts (also, in the spirit of High Fidelity mixed tapes, not adding instrumentals, that need a whole other CD)(ALSO note, not necessarily all my favorite songs, just songs that remind me of me I guess)
