One of my student today passed the K level reading test. That's the second to last level in reading, and is equivalent to mid way through senior year of high school. My student is 11. I was SO happy when he passed his test. I felt like I really playd a positive role in this childs life. We read Shakespeare together and read t.s. elliot poetry together and a host of other things, and he understood it, and digested it, and was affected by it. REALLY touched by it, to the point where he wants to discuss it with me at length. THIS is what it is to be happy, to feel fucking amazing. When you use yourself to help others and there's tangible evidence that they can now succeed because of YOUR effort. I can't remember for the life of me who said this particular quote, but it's something about a persons talent being non existent unless it is shared. Well, wherever I heard it, dear person who said it, you are so right. We are nothing unless we are bringing up and raising the people around us. There are several sides to the story that surface here and there. There's the terry goodkind/ ann ryand version which has it's internal flaws, and then the my version of a human nature accounting for marxism, or a general socialism that doesn't put the corporation before the people, and that keeps the government by the people for the people.
I want to start writing on political message boards again like i did in high school, the problem is I'd probably be talking to high schoolers and I really really really don't want to do that.

Much love my dears and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
