So I have a bone to pick with . . . someone. I'm not sure who this goes out to. Basically, I'm highly annoyed by this new "organic software" term. The word was already defiled by big brand company's selling the same products they did before, just changing the label. Now we're expanding the term organic to include open source software. Software is made (written) and is completely and utterly detached from anything "organic." Maybe the motivation for the making of the software was organic- came from deep within someone, an unprompted physiological muse. I highly doubt that. Or maybe when they wrote the software they were sitting naked in an open field of wildflowers? One definition of organic does mean 'close to nature.' However, I highly doubt that as well.

Open-source software has a fine ring to it, and doesn't need any kitschy modifications. Also, love this list. Results of british poll asking readers what their greatest life pleasures are.
